Several times did I hear people talk about missionaries, I’ve been ministered to by some of them in years to pass but never did I really understand what it meant to be one!
My experience in Awomberew and communities in Ghana was unique in every sense!
It was my first time coming to Africa and not only did I have to learn how to adjust on the mission field but how to integrate myself in a culture that was different from the one I was born into.
In all this I was never alone because my team was really of great help in training me properly.
I would have never imagined my life would be transformed in just few days. I came on this trip as a college sorority girl that didn’t think I had time for the Lord because I was already so busy with the party scene, friends, and school. I started looking around in such a different way. I realized that these people with nothing have so much faith while I have everything with so little faith.
My name is Francis. I come from a town called Avatime in the Volta Region in Ghana. I am a student of the Donkorkrom Senior High School. I gave my life to Jesus Christ at the time when LMC Global was in our school to share the Love of Jesus Christ to us. Thereafter one of the team by name Pastor Isaac preached the word of God to me the following day on my way to school. The need to surrender my life and accept Jesus Christ into my life became clear which I did at that moment, same day. The burden of sin and fear of death was instantly lifted from me forever. Today I can say with confident that I am born again; I have Jesus in my heart with deep assurance.
I thank the Almighty for letting me have an encounter with REVEREND ARCTON and his missionary team. It’s very awesome and great advantage for me. This group came into the life of AWOMBEREW BAPTIST CHURCH in the year 2018; it’s less than year when I joined the Church. When they came, the Church was spiritually dead. Physically, we were facing many challenges.
Many things in the Church were not in order when they came : Children ministry was dead, there was no records on daily activities in the Church, evening services are very slow and poor, there was no youth ministry and praise team; this and many more was the sickness of the church when they came. Not forgetting the leadership challenges.
