We left Accra early hours in morning and arrive the same day at Awombrew village on October 20, 2019 to begin our missionary work with the Awomberew Baptist Church at Gomoa Central; C/R. God gave as travel mercies making our journey peaceful and safety. Immediately began church service with the indigenous members of the church. Pastor Isaac Fiifi Kakraba led the church in a prayer session and the presence of the Lord was all over the Church Auditorium, what a wonderful fellowship with the Holy Spirit in God’s presence.
Sunday school teaching session followed at about 9: 00 am. The Sunday school was very interactive and impactful; the sense of participation and commitment to learn and know the scriptures was a blessing. The Topic “understood of LOVE”. The text was taking from 1 John 4: 7 – 8; “Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is Love”. (KJV). By the end of the Sunday school, everyone was edified and has deeper understanding of God’s Love for which purpose God sent His Only begotten Son to save mankind. It also teaches us how we must live to love others and be filled with the Love of God. Worship and praises continues afterward and was led by the worship team.
The sermon was delivered by Pastor Obed Richard, the text was from the book of Isaiah 40:31; “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.(KJV). The topic was “the purpose of waiting and what to do when waiting on God”; he made everyone understood the text very well and challenged congregation to value the important for a Christian to wait on God, what takes place during waiting and what to do after waiting. The sermon was an eye opener to many at church service and was a blessing to everyone. Pastor Obed Richards then led the church into prayer session for supernatural grace and power of God to touch those depressed and oppressed.
There from Rev Arcton was invited to the podium; he spoke to the church and explained biblical truth on being baptized by water and by the Holy Spirit. He encouraged the congregation especially all those who are not yet baptized to participate in the teaching service to learn more before water baptism by immersion. He them throw more light on testimonies of others who through baptism by immersion experience the work of the Holy Spirit in their personal life. He then prayed and blessed the church to be filled with the fullness of God and joy of the Holy Spirit at all time. Church service came to a close by noon time same day.
Our Mission team stayed behind after Church service and together with youth of the Church and spent quality time in prayer for the community and the local churches. We prayed for revival that will lead to salvation of many, spiritual maturity for the youth in the local churches and godly leaders of the community. We also prayed for the leaders in government and for a peaceful election in Ghana 2020.
Our prayer session was seal with powerful prayer from Rev Arcton concluded with prayer for the nation Ghana, the communities, opinion leaders, political party, schools leaders and youth of the Nation.
After visiting some members of the Church within the community we decided to return home with the assurance of coming back again to the mission field shortly.
